Singles Round Up 2023 – Pt 7 – July & August

Doubling up for this massive round-up, the last couple of months have disappeared in a flash… Loads of great new music from these summer months. As usual, where available, I’ve added the songs to an evil Spotify playlist for you to sample before you buy… support the artists by buying their music, and merchandise, if you like what you hear.

In no particular order, but kicking off here with the new single from the duo who have given me one of my most unique and unusual gig memories of the year, well, to be fair, probably my life…

The Courettes – Tough Like That

Returning to these shores for the second time this year, The Courettes are currently taking a break from recording their new album with a tour of England, and released a video for their Back in Mono B-Sides and Outtakes track, Tough Like That.… Read the rest

Singles Round Up 2021 Part 11

Singles Round Up 2021 – Part 11

Another bumper batch of singles, demoes, or tracks that have somehow made their way into my slightly detached world . I’ve been trying desperately to keep on top of all the new releases and singles that keep catching my eye/ear, evidently I am only human and there are loads I’ve missed, and some probably included here that have been out for a while but I’m only getting my lugs around them now.

As always, these are in no particular order and where available, they’ve been added to the Ginger Quiff 2021 Playlist.

David Delinquent - Better Yourself

David Delinquent – Better Yourself

David Delinquent’s latest song Better Yourself has been available via bandcamp for a couple of weeks now. This isn’t really a review, as I feel that the song, the lyrics and David’s message speak for themselves. Suffice to say, I’m in the process of writing a piece for my  blog that mirrors the sentiments contained in David’s lyrics. We can all be better people.

Please head over to Bandcamp and name your price, all proceeds from the sale of the song go to CRER (Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights) Scotland and Stop Hate.UK.

I will leave the rest of this blog to David himself (taken from his Bandcamp page)

I chose this artwork for a couple of reasons, first and foremost to show solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and the events currently taking place in the US and here in the UK.

David Delinquent – You’re So Boring You Make Me Wanna Die

Despite not being able to go out anywhere, the bucketloads of time I seemingly should have to catch up on my ever-growing list of tasks doesn’t seem to have transpired. I’m fortunate that work is keeping me busy Monday to Friday, in actual fact, busier than ever. At the weekend, my usual weekend chores keep me busy. To be honest, apart from not having to commute to work and not being able to go to gigs, life hasn’t changed that much. Gigs though…

Online Gigs

I doubt any of us will be getting to any gigs anytime soon, but that hasn’t stopped me enjoying live music.… Read the rest
