Run Into the Night – Common Stream of Consciousness – single review

Run Into the Night

One of the Ginger Quiff’s “22 for ’22”, the revamped Run Into the Night release the first single recorded as the new 2 piece with Christina on guitar and vox and long term friend and collaborator Andrew (also of Powderkeg) on drums, with additional backing vox from Steven Young.

The result of their hard work is the addictively compelling Common Stream of Consciousness which will be available to purchase (or stream) tomorrow, and infiltrate your own consciousness, lodging itself firmly there and refusing to budge.

Hulking great dirty crunching riffs from Christina accompanied by a vigorous thunder of drums from Andrew herald the arrival of this deeply resonant rumbling growl of a tune. Like stoner rock injected with performance enhancing steroids resulting in the unleashing of an unbounded energy,

It is an ideal soundtrack to lyrics exploring the minds unerringly constant flow of ideas and concepts delivered with atmospheric vocals and harmonies that add a colourful vibrancy and unbounded energy to the mix. If this is what we can expect from this new pairing then bring it on! Their debut album on Neon Tetra due in 2023 can’t come soon enough.

In the meantime, the band are touring soon with the equally wonderful Jemma Freeman and the Cosmic Something, check out their tremendous 2019 album, Oh Really, What’s That Then?
