24 (and a bit) for ’24

When I started doing this little feature a few years ago, I didn’t consider having to add another to the list each year… but hey, there is plenty to look forward to already in 2024, new bands, older bands returning, albums, singles, re-releases and gigs. In no particular order, but starting with the earliest one in the calendar…

  1. Tina Sandwich and Sister Madds – Already having produced one of my favourite single sof both of the last 2 years, Tina Sandwich were part of the line up at my first gig of 2023 at King Tuts New Years Revolution. On 6th of January Tina’s back at the same venue but this time as headliner! The providers of another of the GQ singles of 2023, Sister Madds are one of the support bands this time around, does that mean they will be headlining next year? I should think so…

  2. Junk Pups – sticking with the New Years revolution gigs, one of Glasgow’s best musical exports, Junk Pups have a headline show on the 27th January, and will hopefully be releasing their single and video for Trophy Wife around the same time.
    Junk Pups
  3. Water Machine & Goodbody – GQ’s band of 2023 are set to go stellar next year. Having so far released a cassette, 2 vinyl EPs and my single of the year, Water Machine Pt 2, and album is due in 2024, with hopefully many more live dates to go with it. With a link to Water Machine in guitarist Jimmy, Goodbody will be a treat to the ears of any indie jangle pop fans. Having played their debut gig towards the end of 2023, 2024 is their for the taking
