The Ginger Quiff is proud to present the exclusive premiere of the new video from The Scaramanga Six for their dark and majestic new single Big Ideas from their forthcoming tenth album, Worthless Music. The band have had an esteemed 26 year career to date, and Big Ideas, the fourth song to be released in anticipation of the album, continues to whet the appetite for what promises to be a huge new album.
Cementing what the band have become known for, Big Ideas is a behemoth of a track. A majestic cinematic soundscape, with a colossal pulsing industrial punk melody permeating throughout. Throbbing bass and pounding drums are paired with scything guitar riffs that cut through you putting your teeth on edge. Add to that a powerful soaring vocal and a gargantuan outro and you’ve got all the elements of an epic single.

The Scaramanga Six vocalist and guitarist (among many other talents) Paul Morricone said of the video:
“There is always someone who appears and tells you to stop being so clever. Often that person is yourself. This song is all about the scourge of self-doubt where the voice in your head materialises before your very eyes to tell you off. Only in this story, that person bears a striking resemblance to Blakes 7 villainess Servalan.”
“We wanted to base a song around a big, strident riff at full strutting pace where the listener can play along as if on an early version of Guitar Hero. It starts off simple until you get to the dismembered guitar solo which chops and changes in several directions at once. Try getting past that on expert level. “
